The South Mountain Group, Inc. was founded in 2005 with an eye on providing much needed customer service in a fast paced market. The overall goal of SMG is to make the settlement process user friendly, timely, and professional--while keeping in mind the borrowers busy schedules. Removing the complexity of the office closing during business hours--which force clients to take time off of work, use vacation days, or forfeit much needed pay in order to close a loan, seems unfair in light of the amount of money a consumer must spend to obtain that loan in the first place. SMG has skillfully woven professional service and acute attention to detail with a refreshingly simplistic approach--allow the borrowers to close their loans on their schedules. Thus, the founding mantra of SMG is a willingness to schedule loans to close on days and at times that meets the borrowers needs. This allows the loan officers to promise the borrowers the flexibility of evening and weekend hours, and the convenience of having the settlement agent meet at the borrowers home, place of business and alleviate the hassle of trying to schedule a settlement into already overscheduled work days.
Our team of professional's background includes real estate, law, accounting, public relations, marketing, and computer engineering, teaching and investing. Together, these skills promote a well-developed and well-rounded firm of business people who understand the consumer's needs. Loan officers and realtors are well served because SMG will work with them around any problem, offer additional support on tricky deals, and offer alternative solutions to common lending problems, for example having notaries available in all states of business who can even accommodate meeting with a buyer and seller separately to obtain needed signatures, allowing the reschedule of a loan to accommodate a needed inspection, and work rush orders in with as little as three days notice. SMG's commitment to its lender and realtor clients permits for a last minute deal to happen, and we have regular clients who prefer our services to accommodate house bound, handicap, or elderly clients by allowing them to remain at home and have a settlement agent meet with them in the safety and comfort of their home.
